About the Anchorage Veterinary Hospital
There has been a Veterinary Practice in Acle since before the Second World War. At that time it was based at Ivy House and was run by Mr John Barr. The present owner Mr Roger Clarke took up the reins in 1968 and built the Anchorage Veterinary Hospital in 1975.
The premises were extended in 1997 to enable our team of six dedicated Veterinary Surgeons to provide a state of the art service to the animals under our care. Because of our rural location, we remain a mixed Practice servicing a full range of farm livestock and horses, as well as all shapes and sizes of domestic pets and an ever-increasing number of exotic species.
We are proud of our Premier League status of "Veterinary Hospital" and have recently archieved the highest Tier 3 level in the new Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Practice Standards Scheme. As a centre of excellence we are a Registered Training Practice for Veterinary Nurses.
Our greatest asset. Six Veterinary Surgeons backed up by three fully qualified and four in training Veterinary Nurses plus a Practice Administrator. Care and service is our aim. Our mission statement is simply "A veterinary surgery is clean, the Anchorage Veterinary Hospital sparkles".
